Single-user Personal Companion requires that the person using Companion log into
Companion with an author ID. This author ID is used for all audio files imported
by Companion regardless of what ID might be present in the source audio and/or
recording device.
Multi-user Personal Companion is intended for use at a
computer accessible by multiple authors. Authors do not log into Companion.
Instead, the author ID present in the source audio and/or the recording device
is used. Multi-user Personal Companion can be configured to either use a default
ID or prompt the user for an ID if none is found in the audio file or recording
device. Multi-user licensing is an optional feature of Personal Companion.
