Details: A possible cause of some SMTP e-mail issues is a virus detector and/or firewall. A virus detector – even when off – can interfere with the ability of Personal Companion, Import Manager, Service Manager, etc. to send SMTP e-mails. The fix is to disable features called something similar to “scan e-mails and attachments” or "restrict e-mail mass mailings". Note that these features may remain on even when the virus detector or firewall is turned off- make sure the feature is not enabled.
