Certain sound cards - often an on-board sound card - will occasionally cause the computer to reboot (or perhaps display the "blue screen of death") when a certain audio file is played. Often the problem occurs at the same point within the audio.
Dataworxs believes the problem is with the sound card (more specifically, the sound card driver) and can be corrected with the installation of a new sound card.
Alternatively, Dataworxs has added a feature to the Audioworxs Player that massages audio data before it is played in order to accommodate sound card problems. The feature can be enabled in Audioworxs Player version 2.05.011 or greater by adding the following to the Windows registry:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Dataworxs Systems\Audioworxs\Player\Setup\DWORD:Chop Audio Peaks = 1
Starting with Audioworxs Player version 2.10.001 this feature can be enabled/disabled from the setup dialog using the "Trim Audio Peaks" feature.
