In general, a free* replacement key is available from Dataworxs only if the original licensed computer had to be re-built or the original computer is replaced/upgraded with a new computer.
Dataworxs stand-alone product licenses are issued for a single computer and user and are not transferrable. Under certain circumstances where the original user no longer requires the application within the first 6 months after purchase, a transfer may be allowed. After 6 months of use the value of the product is deemed to have been realized and a replacement license for the purposes of transferring from one user to another will not be provided.
A free* replacement is not available because the original user has decided they don't want to use the product anymore. Nor is a free* replacement available because a customer has not paid for the product. Dataworxs is happy to provide dealers with full featured, but time-limited, product certificates for use in situations where suitability or payment is in question.
When a replacement key is issued it is expected that the original installation being replaced is fully uninstalled and made unavailable for future use.
