There are two main considerations when specifying and/or purchasing a computer to be used with Brooktrout telephone interface cards: (1) PCI slot specification and (2) chasis style.

1) PCI Slot Specifications

(Your computer provider/builder should be able to tell you the revision number of the motherboard's PCI slots.)

Vantage Card: PCI 2.0, 2.1, or 2.2 slots

TR-1000: any PCI slot  (3.3V 32-bit / 5V 32-bit / 3.3 V 64-bit / 5V 64-bit)

Note: Brooktrout cards do not currently support the following PCI slot types: PCI-XR, PCIe, PCI Express, PCI ExpressR

2) Chasis

Once a motherboard with the required type and number of PCI slots has been identified you must ensure that it comes in a chasis style and configuration that allows the required number of full-length (12.5") Brooktrout PCI cards to fit. Specifically, make sure that the hard drive cage, internal bracing, and cabling will not prevent a full length PCI card from being inserted.
