Yes, you can use your BlackBerry(r) to record dictations. Dataworxs' AudioWav Mobile Mic is a free BlackBerry application that turns your BlackBerry into a convenient easy-to-use digital recorder. When finished recording your dictation it is sent to the e-mail address of your choice. Go to www.dataworxs.com/bb/ for more information and to download the most recent version of the User Guide.

At the receiving end, Dataworxs' UMI (Unified Messaging Interface) Player is used to import the BlackBerry dictation audio file into either a stand-alone AudioWav Player transcription workflow environment or into an Audioworxs dictation system. Note: An optional license is required for UMI Player to play and import BlackBerry AMR audio files.

In general, BlackBerry models that are running OS 4.5+, have a removable media card installed, and support voice recording can run Dataworxs' AudioWav Mobile Mic application.

Choose MobileMic version 1.x for use on BB devices running OS5, and version 2.x for use on BB devices running OS6 and OS7. Screen resolutions differ between models. MobileMic v1.x is optimized for the 8310 Curve (320x240) and v2.x is optimized for the 9800 Torch (480x360).
