Some of Audioworxs and Docuworxs
applications can and do run successfully in a virtualized environment. Dataworxs is aware of a number of successful virtualized Audioworxs implementations. However, if a customer chooses to use any virtual system software (VMWare, etc.), the customer must have an in-house or
3rd party expert when deploying this technology for use with either
Audioworxs Dictation System software or Docuworxs Text Management system
software. Dataworxs Systems does not actively provide direct support of virtualized deployments; this is the responsibility of the customer’s IT department and/or a 3rd party contracted by the customer.
Note: Audioworxs/Docuworxs applications requiring telephony port cards or USB devices (Call Manager for example) may require a separate physical
server/PC.
Our experience indicates that
“virtualization and load balancing” of applications running in a virtualized
environment requires careful setup, deployment and ongoing management.
This is due to potential timing issues that are critical and may cause potential database anomalies. It is recommended that the database
engine be deployed on a dedicated physical machine. Please contact Dataworxs Systems before deploying an Audioworxs or Docuworxs system in a virtualized environment.
