I get the message "Error initializing Olympus footpedal. Error return code: 3" when I start the program. What can I do?

To use an Olympus footpedal with AudioWav Player you must first run the Olympus Foot Switch Setup. The setup is called FSdist.exe and is installed by the AudioWav Player setup.

Installed Location: install_dir\Dataworxs Systems\AudioWav Player\FSdist.exe
Shortcut: Start-->Programs-->Dataworxs Systems-->AudioWav Player-->Olympus Footpedal Setup

If the Olympus footpedal setup has already been executed and the problem persists you may not have the proper footpedal selected in the setup or you have attached to a port that isn't configured to work in your computer. Go to Properties-->Setup and choose the Preferences tab. If you are using an Olympus footpedal then select Footpedal attached and select Olympus footpedal. Press Configure and select the correct footpedal, USB or RS-232C (serial). If you selected serial, choose the correct COM port to which you have attached the footpedal. Restart the program and see what happens.

If you still get the error then the Olympus Footpedal Setup may not have been executed, you may have made an incorrect selection, you have attached to a COM or USB port that doesn't work, or you may have a bad footpedal. Try another port and try another footpedal.
