Details: If a valid audio file fails to import successfully a Job may be created that has no associated audio and the source audio file is moved to the “Unknown Author” folder. In this circumstance the original source audio file can usually be re-imported successfully by simply placing the file into the “Import” folder. The following three scenarios can cause this problem to occur:

1)       Versions of Import Manager before 2.00.005 will fail to import an audio file with a filename greater than 32 characters long if the original filename is mapped to a specific input field (in the Demographics Exchange setup tab).

2)       A communication timeout while attempting to create an associated document record will cause the symptom described above. An extremely large number of Event Log entries have been known to cause this timeout. The Event Log should be purged periodically to prevent it from growing too large. An acceptable size will be different for each system configuration.

3)       An error in the AW0001 (or Audioworxs) Access database can prevent an Audioworxs system running on XP from creating a Document record. The column named  “Length” in the Document table is incorrectly spelled as “Lenth” in some Audioworxs distributions. Correcting this column-naming mistake using MS Access will allow Import Manager to work correctly.
